Emmanuel Olawale is a husband, father of two children, who is dedicated to public and community service. He is a candidate for judge of the Court of Common Pleas Delaware County, Ohio in the 2014 election. He is the first minority candidate to contest the honorable position.
Emmanuel and his wife, Jummy have been married for over ten years. They have been residents of Delaware County, Ohio since 2006 and are the proud parents of six year old boy, Favor, and one year plus girl, Lily.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria into a working class family where the value of hard work, personal responsibility and independence was instilled. He is the grandson of a farmer who toiled from sun up till sun down, the son of hardworking parents who transferred to him the legacy of hard-work.

He immigrated to the United States in 1997 and attended the City University of New York. He worked his way through college, juggling two full time jobs while concurrently attending college full-time and still managed to graduate in three years with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media Studies and a minor in Journalism.

He relocated to Ohio in 2002 to attend Capital University Law School. He also worked his way through law school by attending classes in the day and working in the evenings and in-between classes. He graduated from Capital University Law School in 2005 and joined the law firm of Malek & Malek where he worked as a litigator.

Continuing in the spirit of self-responsibility with which he was raised, he became an entrepreneur and started his own law practice in 2009. He represents diverse clients and helps solve various legal issues which ranges from civil, criminal, immigration, commercial to family law. He has appeared before variant State and Federal Courts and administrative bodies such as Mayor’s Courts, Municipal Courts, Common Pleas Courts, Appellate Courts, Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, Ohio Department of Jobs & Family Services, Ohio Department of Aging and the Ohio Industrial Commission. He also acts as Guardian Ad Litem for minor children in juvenile court.

With a deep love for the United States, a country that has given him so much since he arrived in 1997, he became a proud naturalized U.S. citizen in 2004.

Emmanuel is a recipient of several professional, leadership and academic awards. He was twice selected as a Super Lawyers’ Rising Star (2013, 2014), an honor reserved for less than 2.5% attorneys in a State. Other awards and recognitions he has received include The Emerging Leaders’ Award; CALI Excellence of the Future Award, Excellence in Appellate Advocacy Award, Business First Magazine’s People on the Move.

He is an avid reader, a writer and poet. He is also a golfer, soccer player and an amateur body builder in his spare time. He participated in the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival in the Men’s Physique category. He also loves running and bicycling outdoors.

He participates in community outreach and empowerment programs, volunteers free legal services to the underprivileged and acts as a mentor to new lawyers, students and youths.
